The 2018 Maree 8K

ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED!
You can still register on Sunday from 11am in the Maree Community Centre.

We look forward to welcoming you to Maree this Sunday for the tenth Maree 8K run.

About The Race:

The Race HQ is the Maree Community Centre. You can sign-up on the day or pick up your bib if you have pre-registered anytime from 11.30am. The Community Centre is located directly beside the Maree National School.

As always, the Maree 8K is only possible thanks to the continued support of sponsors. GottaRun have come onboard as our main sponsors again this year and have very generously sponsored all the prizes for the race in conjunction with Mizuno Ireland.

The Route:

The race starts at 1pm from the grounds Maree Community Centre. The route goes out to Tawin Island through Prospect before doubling back along by the shore heading back to the Community Centre through Garraun. There will be plenty of marshals along the route to keep you on track and we have a water station at the 5K mark.

Parking:

We have plenty of parking available both at the Maree Community Centre and the Church Carpark. Please note however that there is children race happening at 12 noon (one hour before the race), so the road from the centre to the turn to Clarinbridge will be impassable for about 30 minutes (12.00-12.30), so if you are arriving via Clarinbridge during this time, you will have to park at the church and walk up to the centre (less than 1km). If you are arriving via Oranmore/Maree Rd/Creganna, you won’t be affected. Please see map attached for more information.

Other Notes:

  • To ease traffic delays, we ask that you enter Maree from Oranmore. Directions from Oranmore (point A is the church in the village of Oranmore): http://goo.gl/maps/MGCSX
  • We do not have storage lockers at the Centre and we cannot hold items for runners. Your valuables are your own responsibility.
  • Follow the road and parking marshalls’ instructions. The route has been measured and AAI certified.
  • Please car pool if at all possible.

Thanks again to our sponsors GottaRun (Oranmore) and Mizuno
